What You Must Do Right Now

Follow these four mandatory steps until the Department of Health lifts this advisory.

  1. 1. Boil Tap Water for 1 Full Minute

Bring all tap water to a rolling boil for at least 60 seconds. Let it cool before drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, or preparing infant formula.

  2. 2. Use Bottled Water for Food & Pets

Use commercially bottled water or previously boiled water for washing dishes, preparing food, and providing water to pets.

  3. 3. Bathing and Showering

Adults and older children may shower, but be careful not to swallow any water. Bathe infants and young children with sponge baths using boiled or bottled water.

  4. 4. Discard Ice and Filtered Water

Empty automatic icemakers and refrigerator water dispensers. Household carbon filters do NOT remove waterborne bacteria.
